A Jesus Freak is someone believes in Jesus and openly admits it and stands up for their faith. As a Jesus Freak I face challenges everyday. Although my challenges may not be as big as some of the well known martyrs, I am now facing my biggest challenges yet. As a high school senior in a public school I am constantly surrounded by bad language and non believers. As a Christian teen these challenges are huge because I have the pressure of my peers trying to get me to conform to their ways. But as I know the bible tells me not to use the Lords name in vain, it also tells me not to conform to the ways of my old sin nature. In my life I am constantly trying to strengthen my armor of God,(Ephesians 6:10-18), by reading the Bible as often as I can , going to church every week, and also participating in my high school youth group. As I try to strengthen my armor I am also strengthening my personal walk with God. When I face these everyday challenges I hope to never lose a “battle” but I know that that is impossible seeing how we all slip up every once in a while. But I know that God will forgive me and I just keep moving forward. Another hard part of being a Jesus Freak is giving advice to people that are non believers. The reason this is so hard for me is because I have a hard time giving advice that doesn’t contain references to scripture. Although I realize my advice should be no different whether the person is a believer or not, I still have a hard time because I don’t want a person to just disregard my advice because I have referenced it to scripture. My Jesus Freak attitude is what keeps me going in my everyday life and it will continue to be what pushes me forward.
